Wow! That's an amazing tutorial. TY. I got to the last step and clicked on system restore. It rings up a dialog box, but after a few seconds on the screen it disappears.
That is most likely because there are no points to restore too.
So, highlight the C:// drive in the middle box.
Click on "Configure" to adjust the percentage of space you want to allow the restore points take up. (5 or 6 gigs.More if SSD is 2TB)
Turn ON system protection by clicking on the radio button next to it.
Once that is done, click on the OK button on bottom. That screen will disappear.
Usually, I restart the PC.
Go back to the same screen "System Protection".
Click on System Restore to see if the restore point screen will come up. If not, there are no restore points to be had.
Back to System Protection screen.
Click on the Create button. Give it a name (whatever you want) and click on the Create button.
Wait for Windows to take a snapshot of the registry and until the screen says Restore Point Successful. Click Close.
Now, click on the System Restore button to see the restore point that was created.
Windows will create a System Restore point on it's own about once a week and Before installing major updates.
This tool is to backup the registry in case of a bad driver or bad configuration of Windows or you just made a
mistake. It will not affect you installed programs and apps only the registry that was badly configured.
The restore point is there to bring back the registry before the mishap.
That should take care of System Restore but, still not your WiFi. At this point, I really
don't know how to proceed. Since this seems like a software problem, it might be time
for a Clean Boot. This will stop all active processes and will allow only the ones that are
needed to boot Windows. From there you can see if it's a software problem or a defective
component. Another thought, did the content blocker you have installed have updated
their program recently? This could also be another avenue to verify. This is why a
system restore point or a backup of the OS is really important to have around.
can you verify with the content blocker people if they have updated their program
lately and you didn't know about it.
