Windows 10
Hello,

I'm using Windows 10 currently, but I am experiencing an upload issue.
I’m paying for 1500 download and 1000 upload.

I am connected through ethernet always.

On Windows 11, I ran a speedtest and I have near perfect results of what I’m paying for.

Now that I’ve downgraded back to Windows 10, it appears that my download speed is fine, but my upload speed has decreased quite a lot, I am getting anywhere from 500-600 now.

I have the latest drivers from my manufacturers’ site for my ethernet network adapter. I am not quite sure what the issue is. I have also adjusted a few settings within the network card itself which what I had previously in Windows 11. I have also updated my ethernet drivers further to using [DRIVERS] Intel Ethernet/WiFi/Bluetooth using version "Drivers - I225/I226 - Windows 10 : 1.1.4.43 WHQL [15/02/2024]".

Any help? Thanks!

Disable Window Auto-Tuning feature is enabled by default in Windows 11/10 and makes data transfers over networks more efficient. But if your network uses an old router or your firewall software does not support this feature, then you may experience slow data transfers or even loss of connectivity.

In this guide, you will find a tip on how to increase the download speed on your Windows computer.

If one is talking about Internet speeds, most times the Upload speed will be much slower than the Download speed, sometimes as low as a fourth. I have 25Mbps Wireless DSL service.

On proper full fibre optical cable there should in theory be no difference.On older copper wire / adsl / telphone cable type connections a 10:1 ratio between download and upload is not unusual.

Still experiencing the same issue. I am on fibre internet and not receiving what I was getting on Windows 11. Still trying to figure out on how to resolve this issue, but overall thank you for the people above for assisting so far.

If anyone else can help guide me the correct way for this fix, I'd much appreciate it.

Just a couple things, has the ISP been checked whether they have an issue and is the Router involved providing 5G Wireless or only the slower 2G and which is the computer capable of?

@Dragonfire2133

If on Wifi - ensure that you select 5Ghz rather than 2.4Ghz if your wifi transmits both - the network adapter settings might have changed / been reset in Windows 11.Also ensure full duplex is selected in the adapter settings -- often for wifi half duplex is the default setting.

If using a LAN ensure it's running at FULL speed to the router -- it might have dropped to 100 mbps or even 10mbps. A lot of computers when on LAN have indicator lights on the LAN end -- usually GREEN or BLUE if running at fastest rates speed and orange if on slowest speed.
