Finally got to update from 21H2 to 22H2 by mounting 22621.1.220506-1250.NI_RELEASE_CLIENTMULTI_X64FRE_EN-US.ISO and installed at first try. Now I'm on 22H2 Build 22621.382. After a few NET 3.5 and other minor updates, now Windows Update is offering me to upgrade to:Each Feature Update gets two years of mainstream support before it hits EoL (End of Life). You get continued support by installing a newer Feature Update. You can think of a Feature Update as being like the modern version of a Service Pack. The OS overall is still supported, but at a certain point, if you want new updates, you have to install the newest Feature Update / Service Pack.
Usually new Feature Updates would be offered via Windows Update. Under some circumstances, like if you used a bypass method to install Windows 11, then it won't offer you a new Feature Update via Windows Update. You should still be able to do an in-place upgrade though. Whatever caused the upgrade from the ISO to fail is a separate issue.
Try other ISOs for 23H2 and 22H2. You could also potentially try upgrading directly to the latest 24H2 Release Preview build. If all of that fails, there are actually newer 21H2 builds out there, the most current being 22000.3019 from June 11th, still updated since Enterprise and other versions get an extra year of support compared to mainstream (22000.2538 was the last mainstream release build IIRC). That would be better than nothing, or could maybe be used as a stepping-stone to a newer version.

The doubt I have is if the install happened because of just upgrading from 21H2 to 22H2, or because I removed beforehand StartAllBack, removed a few drivers like RTL8192su.sys and ran the DISM.
So what I'm going to do, is to restore an old backup before doing any of that, and check again if allows me to upgrade again. I just want to know if the update using the ISO is blocked by some software, driver or configuration in my system.
It's pretty wicked that Windows Update didn't find and install the upgrades, since I've checked for them periodically and had already set "AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU" to "1". I already had the feeling that my Windows wasn't getting big updates lately, and since everything worked perfect didn't care to investigate.
The PC is pretty snappy even being 6700HQ so now I can extend its life a few more years. At least for 10 more years it should be ok.
