Windows 11
Hi.
I started this thread earlier, Some services won't start at boot but the error came back. Here is what I have tried:

Backup my old windows 11 install (with Acronis), which works incl boot to safemode. But this is an old install taking up more than 25 gigabyte ekstra of space compared to a new install (incl office 365 and games), so I wanted to make a fresh slim Windows 11 :-)

Load default setting in BIOS (ie no OC)

Installed Windows 11 with a newly created fresh install media from Download Windows 11 (danish url to create windows 11 media on an USB)

At this point everything works, including reboot in safemode.

Starts WU, and it finds some updates to windows and to my logitech USB keybord and mouse. Logitech driver fails first, but at second attempt it seems to work. After everything is installed, it reboot, and it seems to go as usual with a new Windows install. After all updates are installed, first boot seems OK. I then tried to boot in safemode and it won't work. It stops at the login screen where you type your PIN, no input is possible, and seconds later the light in my mouse and keyboard goes out.
After a while I had to use the RESET-butten on my PC-cabinet, and let it boot normally. I then looked at the log from the safemode-boot, and 23 services fails to start. The text was that "xxx.service fail to start timed out after 45000 milliseconds", but no clue WHY it could not start.

I then waited some time, rebooted normally, it was a little slow, but not so much, I again looked at the log and at the normal boot, "only" 2 services won't start, same error as described above. Remember, at this point I have not changed anything nor installed any driver or software myself. It is only Windows 11 that has installed updates.

This was my second attempt to install Windows 11 (first attempt I spend a lot of time making games, Office and tools working, not knowing anything about safemode-problem, but thinking it was quite slow to boot) hence the first thread as written above in the first line.

I then recovered my old backup (Acronis again), and it booted up normally. I then tried to boot in safe-mode, and it works also normally.

After 2 hours sleep, I tried it all over again with a fresh install. But same outcome, a faulty installation. This was pretty much my weekend 😢.

Windows version on the new install after updates (and faults) 22631.3447
Windows version on my old (working) install 22635.3495 (Windows Insider BETA)

Why is my old install working, but a new install (after WU) don't????

Any ideas about what the error might be?
Any ideas to a solution.

English is not my first language, so I'm sorry, if some phases seems worng.

Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. It can help you troubleshoot problems on your PC. For example, if the problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know default settings and basic device drivers aren't causing the issue.

I suggest you reinstall Windows 11 and disable driver updates.

I can't help because I'm on a rare still Windows build.

I don't have to worry about updates that might leave Windows in a broken state.

Not perfect but from where I am, the fall now doesn't seem to be too far away.

HEUREKA. I first tried your video, but that did not work, but it make me think back. I have for some years ago a problem with a driver that came with WU (Auzentech soundcard I think). So I searched for "prevent driverinstall in WU", and I found this:
Redirecting
That worked!!! It was an Intel (or maybe 2) driver(s) that destroyed my installation. Now it is running with the Intel-drivers from MSI, and everything seems to work.
Thank you veru much for your help
