Windows 11 Fast Startup is enabled but not work

Hello, It's a long time, Fast Startup has stopped working for no reason and system always do full shutdown. I also ran Windows and drive scans, no problems were found. I enabled and disabled hibernate from powercfg and registry and power option, but it still didn't work and always system performs a full shutdown. Through the hybrid shutdown /s /hybrid command in the command prompt, the shutdown is still full. I went to Event Viewer and strangely this change happened without any errors since November 20th and when I turn on system, The Event ID 27 says The boot type was 0x0 instead of 0x1. There was no Windows update that day, no programs were installed, and the GPU driver was not changed. I really can't figure out why this happened, I'm frustrated. I put the system to sleep, there is no problem, just Fast Startup is not working, DISM, SFC, and CHKDSK commands found no errors. Everything in the system works fine. The BIOS is latest version and has not changed, however, I reset it. I updated the drivers, but fast startup still didn't work. It's really strange that when I click the shutdown button, a full shutdown command is issued in the Event Viewer. Previously, the sleep command was displayed.

It is also necessary to say that before when Fast Startup was working, the system uptime in task manager was not reset, but now it is reset after each shutdown, which means Fast Startup is not working.

These are the system specifications:

MB Asus B660m-K
CPU 12100f
GPU XFX 5700 XT
RAM 16GB 3200MHZ
SSD WD SN580 1TB
OS Windows 11 24H2

Also, I decided to test Windows Hibernate mode. To my surprise, the system shuts down and starts up exactly like fast startup and boots up very quickly, just like I remember when fast startup was working.

Right now the only strange thing is why fast startup itself is not working and when the shutdown option is selected, the system shuts down as a full shutdown.

If you have SSD drive or NVME Fast startup no effect on them, you might as well disable it.
If you have a hdd, it might make it faster to boot.

When Fast Startup was working, the system booted up a few seconds faster and it also had some positive effect on the SSD. Anyway, yes, it may not be very important, but it is strange this problem occurs without any errors and why it cannot be fixed.

Because you blame on Fast Startup feature of Windows 11 without having solid proof that it does not work like i said before there are many reasons why computer will boot slowly.

Search for cmd.
In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as Administrator.
When you are prompted by User Account Control, select Continue. At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off , and then press Enter

Then after one minute type powercfg.exe /hibernate on
It will work.

I think you still don't know what fast startup means. In this case, the system uptime is not reset like system hibernation. I will send any evidence from my system if necessary, although I don't have to prove anything to you. Please don't reply to my threads on any site when you can't help.

No one can help you as there is no error message, and we did not code the Microsoft so loved Windows 11 Fast Startup we don't have source code to fix a so-called bug you claim only exist with your system also i know you don't know anything as you want as to fix a ghost i will post anytime i want if you don't like it then don't start a public Thread.

I did this too, thanks, unfortunately it didn't work. The strange thing is that the system hibernation works perfectly. But the shutdown command tells Windows to do a full shutdown, not fast startup.

Bear in mind that some drivers simply will not work with Fast Startup. Is it possible that there were any recent hardware or driver changes?

Personal opinion: I disable Fast Startup on EVERY machine I touch because it very frequently causes problems such as WOL not working, hangs a logon screen, etc. Those issues are very common. I can't prove this, but it's possible that these issues are mainly on machines that don't technically meet Win 11 requirements with older hardware and drivers.

Did you use Microsoft's MBR2GPT.exe tool to convert Legacy MBR partition scheme to UEFI in the past ?
No, I gave the unpartitioned SSD drive to the Windows installer and Windows itself created the drives in GPT mode and I didn't make any changes to it after that. The only thing I did was change the graphics VBIOS switch once when the system was off, and the system wouldn't boot, and I changed the switch back to the original position, and after that I think fast startup stopped working, of course I don't remember exactly, I don't know if it had anything to do with this problem. I removed the graphics driver with DDU and installed the latest version, but fast startup still didn't work. I feel like Windows prevents fast startup at the lowest hardware/software level and doesn't even say why in the events. But it's strange that hibernation works because the two are the same, but strangely, Windows shutdown has become like the state where you always hold down the shift key when you press the shutdown button. I have a lot of software and I can't reinstall Windows right now because everything works fine in Windows, but I'm really afraid that even after reinstalling this problem won't be solved, and God knows if it's a hardware or software change!! It was said on the Microsoft website that if the system crashes, the Fast Startup license may be revoked and that the Dump files in the Dumpfilters registry should be deleted, but I checked that part too and everything was normal!! Also I did a clean boot. In short, I've tried all the ways and this problem won't be solved at all.

Interesting. I've never had difficulties with hibernation, only fast startup.

But that is the difference between Windows and something like iOS: Windows has to support such a vast array of different hardware combinations. I guess that there are simply bound to be issues here and there.

just a thought
is fast startup/boot enabled in the BIOS ?
just to note .. the fast startup on my system is disabled by my encryption software

you can also check settings > system tools > system configuration
in this window 'boot' tab
change the time out setting from 30 to 3
click OK and restart
this may help startup a little bit

best of luck, Steve ..
