windows 11 moment 5 copilot button did not move to corner

I just update today windows 11 moment 5 update and I saw that copilot button did not moved to corner like it supposed to.

Anyone else face this bug? how can I fix it?

Hi, no idea. But I see you have been here a while and haven’t filled out your Computer Specs or your Windows Build. It would help members to be able to help you better.

Please fill out your computer specifications.

And

Please type “Winver” into search on your PC and open it. Please type the version and build that it reports, into your “System Specs” OS section (first on the list where you have placed “Windows 11”)

Like this for example: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 Build 22631.3296

I don't know the answer, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Copilot is in the right corner of this main computer and is in the original position on one of my laptops.

I would suspect so, I have not investigated all the new features but my CoPilot did move to the far right of the taskbar.
Also, I am a week behind in updating. I shall do so shortly and see if it messes up the CoPilot placement.

Your Winver seems to be a little behind mine, and I believe I am one build behind some others. I am also of the belief that “Moment 5” was basically just the last update or the previous. I prefer to refer to them as builds, so I am unclear as to which “update” was moment 5. I believe it may have been: February 29, 2024 - KB5034848 (with some reports claiming it has caused many issues for some people)

I was on my desktop when I posted last, and just before I updated. I'm now on my new Lenovo Ideapad, and it's currently updating. Assuming I'm getting Patch Tuesday updates.

biyakuga, are you using any Taskbar or Start Menu tweaks or software?

If you align your taskbar icons to the left or right (as apposed to the center) does it make a difference?

Also... how is it you can view so many updates in the history, mine only shows the last 7. Did you download/update to those all at the same time?

This laptop and the desktop both have today's update to 23H2 22631.3374. I haven't updated the other two lappies yet.

As a result of update KB5035942

I was also updated to build 23H2 22631.3374

The only place I see copilot is in the search flyout. I don't have it on my taskbar.

Per the folks over on MS forum Windows 11 devices will get this new functionality at different times. Some of these new features roll out gradually using controlled feature rollout (CFR) to consumers. I run release and got it along with the Feb. cumulative. I don't install the cumulative previews.

It seems no one really knows how MS picks and choose who gets CFR features and when they get them. MS first began CFR rollouts strictly for Edge changes but the way I understand it, Windows changes are being released the same way now. I can see the benefit of it from a testing standpoint, but it's certainly confusing to one in the massess who expects his Windows to be like the guy's next door, but isn't.

I don't think anyone here expects to see their Windows to be the same as the next guy/gal.
Do you? I don't. The more time they (MS) take to roll things out , the better for all of us. At
least , there's a better chance we get what we paid for , we hope!

Sorry, More aptly, I should have said "It's confusing to folks who have multiple 11 devices who expect them all to look the same, but don't". One of mine has co-pilot in bottom right task tray, two do not..(The only thing different is the 2 use the same MS account, the one uses a different MS account....Hmmm, maybe that's how CFR picks and chooses, by lucky MS account)

One would think such changes would already be sufficiently tested by the Insiders before any of the masses sees them, wouldn't one? Instead, with CFR MS is using consumers who are not in Insider to provide feedback, too. Really, I couldn't care less where Co-pilot shows up. Though I've played with it, I don't use it as the norm and have considered disabling it. It's kind of a PITA.

biyakuga already has CoPilot though, and the Moment 5 updates. Yet the icon stays within the centre of his taskbar with his other icons. I’d assume he would be in the same boat as anyone else with moment 5 update, considering he has the features (except for the icon placement)
