Hi

I have several PC's that I don't want to receive preview quality updates on. I just want to check the correct way to do this as they are production machines.

The machines run windows 11 pro 23h2. I have never signed up for any insider program and the machines are used with local accounts. I am unsure why I am getting these preview updates offered. Should I use the policy editor 'manage preview builds'. Unless there is something forcing them to be offered in the dell software.

Any help clarity would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Jon

I don't belong to the "Insider" program and get offered those "preview builds", every time I look at the "Windows Updates". Even though it says that my system is up to date. On the right hand side of the offer is a "X" that allows you to throw it away. But it will come back, the next time you look at the Updates, even though I have thrown it away, multiple times. The "preview builds" are actually part of the "Optional Updates". Why don't they stay there.

I am only running Windows Home, but would also like to get rid of the "preview builds". I am OK with the "Cumulative Updates" and am always up to date, but don't need the "Preview Updates".

That is normal. Those are not insider updates. They are the next months cumulative that will automatically be changed from preview to the release version of the cumulative update that will be downloaded to you on update Tuesday. They are optional until that time because a lot of users like to download the cumulative before update Tuesday.
