Windows 11 23H2 Home Single Language
While everything has been going well with 23H2 V2 for over a year, last night I decided to install 24H2 with the devil's urging.

I formatted and did a clean install. After the clean install, I applied REG and BAT Tweaks. I cleaned the bloatware.
Without connecting to the internet at all, I closed Defender with sordum.org's DefenderControl and Update with WindowsUpdateBlocker.

I restarted the computer and connected to the internet.

After this stage, when I opened Settings and Task Manager, I started to receive the following message.

"The System detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application"

I didn't try any other applications. Frankly, I got angry and went back to 23H2 V2 by doing a clean install again and following the same procedures, and now it's working flawlessly again.

Has anyone received this message after the installation? Does anyone know the reason and solution?

I downloaded the Windows ISO from the Microsoft website and I already have an OEM license. I don't use any pirated software. When I scanned the entire system with Kaspersky Rescue Disk, it came back clean except for a few false positives (Nirsoft softwares and Defender Control).

But by the sounds of it, you do modify a lot in Windows. Sordum makes good stuff, but maybe DefenderControl broke something? Who knows.

Apparently — Stack-based buffer overrun (or stack-based buffer overflow) is a kind of bug indicating that a program writes more data to a buffer located on the stack than that is actually allocated for the buffer. It is a general programming malfunction.

Thanks for the answer antspants.

Yes i made a lot of modifying.
DefenderControl and WindowsUpdateBlocker force to do their jobs. They also disable some services.
Maybe someone has experience with that tools without any error.

For about fixes; i already made a virus scan. It is too late for SFC and DISM commands i already made a clean install downgrade to 23h2v2.

Why not install 24H2 and test it before making any alterations? Then tweak one step at a time. Your tweaks broke it! :-)

I know there should be some reasons about that situation.

BAT/REG Tweaks
Bloatware cleaning
DefenderControl
WindowsUpdateBlocker

I asked if anyone use DefenderControl and WindowsUpdateBlocker but dont get this error reporting.
Or is there a tweak that definitely caused this situation?
It is very hard to find the tweak because I used hundreds of them.

I dont remember the error but I remember one of the windows 10 built caused an error and i find the reason and solution in tenforums.

I have seen users report this error after a clean install, because certain required Appx packages were removed, or not allowed to properly update via Windows Update. My suggestion is to allow Windows to connect for about 20 min. so minor updates happen, before blocking WU.

There is a version mismatch on the system's set of Appx libraries, and Settings crashes from a dependency. Windows has no idea why, except to warn this type of crash is typical of a security breach. There isn't a hack, Windows just hasn't finished updating Apps in the background.

Not everyone gets this error, but I've triggered it right after install when removing App packages.

I also remove some App packages after clean install. So disabling Windows Update and removing App packages can cause that problem.
Thanks.

You can safely remove user Apps, but don't touch runtime libraries like:
Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework
Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime
Microsoft.UI.Xaml, UWPDesktop
Microsoft.VCLibs
Microsoft.WindowsAppRuntime

That list is OK. But like I said, in the first 20 min. after an install, Windows has deferred some background App updates. Maybe you can wait, before making all your changes.

Troubleshooting seems simple to me. Do a clean install of 11, Boot into it and let it apply any outstanding updates. If all runs well before slashing away at it, the problem is not Windows but some tweak or app the user uses.
Slowing your roll on your changes can help you determine which one.
Another thing one can do for insurance is image a brand new, completely clean system. Keep record of the tweaks you do and make additional images along the way.
Mass tweaking all at once is NOT a good idea.
