Windows Defender on a fresh installed Windows 11

Dear all

I forgot to add, that the laptop came with pre-installed Windows 11 OOBE in S mode, and that McAfee LiveSafe was part of the bloatware.

Some claim, that McAfee LiveSafe and Windows in S mode are not compatible.

1.
Could it be, that only a small version of McAfee LiveSafe was pre-installed?
And for McAfee LiveSafe to fully install and take effect, it would require:
A McAfee LiveSafe account
Activation of McAfee LiveSafe
Turn off Windows S mode

Could anyone please try answer:
2.
McAfee integrates with Windows Defender, some elements of security are still parts of Windows overall security.
-
What elements of security?

3.
If McAfee LiveSafe was fully pre-installed, and it gets deactivated, how long before MS Defender kicks in? Instantly? An hour? After restart?

Thank you

Let me rephrase:
What if you uninstall McAfee LiveSafe or deactivate it - then MS Defender will kick in automatic - but how fast?

I'm sorry I've never timed the second(s). If you use McAfee and pay for it, then continue, until renewal. If you want to get rid of it, then uninstall. You can use Revo uninstaller to make sure all remnants are gone. Uninstall Software, Remove programs easily - Revo Uninstaller Pro ....You won't get infected in the amount of time you're doing all of this.
When you choose Windows Defender to be your default antivirus, Windows Defender will be recognized immediately.

What you are writing is doing something active.

What if uninstalling or deactivating McAfee LiveSafe - then afterwards you have to choose MS Defender AV, or it kicks in automatic?

Do you want to keep it S mode?

The live safe on your computer is a store app.
I turned off S mode since I use cmd.exe

You are right, in Microsoft Store - McAfee Personal Security is available.
Is that a guarantee, that McAfee LiveSafe would work in S Mode?
Anyone can confirm this?
