Solved Windows keeps disabling turbo mode

Make sure Turbo and SST are enabled.
Nothing else is required.

I think the temperatures are too high for 8.7W (I apologize, I didn't see that it was a laptop).

IMO it's best not to let the processor get up to 95C°

By "Windows keeps disabling turbo mode",I mean this gets set to disabled and is never changed back to any mode even if the temp becomes very low
When it gets disabled and the temp is low(leave the laptop idle for a while),when I try to run some heavy task, the mode does not change and the cpu speed is limited to 2ghz

a lap top on battery the turbo boost is most likely getting disabled because of the overload and heat on the battery.
as turbo boost can over heat and drain a battery very rapidly.

just a thought. best of luck, Steve ..

The laptop have never been working on battery since day1(almost 3 months)
I revert back to modern sleep hopping this will have something to do with it,I turn off all programs and put the laptop to sleep
Few hours later when I wake it up,turbo was disabled again(it does the same with S3 sleep)

When I wake up the laptop while using the old sleep style, the temp is bellow 40 but turbo is disabled

I left the laptop on idle for around half an hour and when I return, the performance mode was set to disable again:mad:
Those are the max temps during that time

From HWMonitor, similar processor to yours i7-12700H, Hybrid mode (Optimus, iGPU), running Browser tabs, some with video.
No system mods, original Windows 11 Home install as bought. Thus all manufacturers configurations present.
Obviously Min/Max frequencies are over a period of time.

P-Cores 400 MHz to 4.5/4.7 GHz. The 4.7 GHz max turbo I guess is in single core operation, 4.5 GHz for multi core.
E-Cores 600 MHz to 3.5 GHz.

What I said in the last sentence of post #14 still applies. I very much doubt you will ever get back until you do that.

You just refuse to believe me,I am telling you,I did not change ANYTHING in TrottleStop,I just run it
I run it because I was getting that problem way before I started getting this problem(it may even been there since day1,I just ignore it because I thought it's normal when the cpu speed drops to 2ghz but I was still getting 60fps in games)
I was reducing the voltage on my old laptop and I run this program to see if I can do it with this one because intel extreme utility was showing everything as locked
I run this program and saw that everything is locked there too,I DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING with it

I made an autohotkey to immediately notify me when windows disabled the turbo mode(changing the value in the registry that represents the mode chosen in the power options under "processor performance boost mode")

When I get the notification,I check the windows logs in the even viewer and this line appears right when the turbo gets disabled

Process C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe (process ID:22172) reset policy scheme from {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e} to {381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e}

How many watt does it draw with no trotteling in game?
In printscreens i see 35watt. Should that not be atleast 45watt?

It depends on the game,I just tried one and the cpu never went above 60(20-60) and the gpu between 10-50
It depends on the load
The psu can output 200w and the total draw was never above 100w

I don't think it is related to that, you see that long screenshot above, that was on idle,I left it for a while and when I return, turbo was disabled

I don't care whether you have changed things with Throttlestop or not. Posts #5, #7, You have meddled with Registry entries in this thread and your previous threads.

Threads like not knowing how to deal with 16:10 aspect ratio screens popular these day on laptops. Does indicate where you are in knowledge terms, and then there is your thread on 7 Dec 2024. An opposite complaint it would seem.

That also indicates the Laptop is within warranty, well return it get it fixed, or get a refund, whatever is the case in your part of the world.

"You have meddled with Registry entries in this thread and your previous threads."

And?
I have been dealing with registry entries for over 20 years.

"Threads like not knowing how to deal with 16:10 aspect ratio screens popular these day on laptops."

And why exactly do you assume I have been using anything other than 16:9 for the last 15 years

I find what was wrong and it was definitely nothing to do with the mister know it all reasons(modifying registry entries or the fact that I used throttlestop)

So thanks all except Helmut
Problem solved
