Windows Snipping Tool automatically minimizing

Windows 11 Pro
After I take a screenshot, the Snipping Tool automatically minimizes. I would like to prevent this and have it still showing after I take a screen clipping.

I already tried resetting and everything then rebooting and that's not working.

Any suggestions?

This started happening to me as well several updates back, maybe even as far back as 22h2. I even installed the old snipping tool but it minimizes as well as does the new one. If you find a solution I would appreciate you posting back and sharing it.

Yes, this started happening in Windows 11 for me too. Apparently it is by design and I do not know of a way to change the new default behaviour. What you could do instead, is try a third party alternative to the snipping tool. If you are interested, here is a brief survey of some of the most well known alternatives (free and paid):

It is a matter of trying one of them at a time, and see if any one of them remedies your issue with snipping tool.
Good luck.

On my work computer, after I use the Snipping Tool, it doesn't minimize. They use Windows 10 Enterprise, 64 bit OS.

Maybe there is something about Windows 10 Enterprise that prevents the Snipping Tool from being minimized?

Windows 10 uses Snip and Sketch, which is slightly different to the Windows 11 Snipping Tool.

I use the prt sc (Printscreen) button then paste into Classic Paint use the Select Feature then Crop and save to Desktop. This way stops the screen going dark.
