Word not printing but Excel and other apps have no problem

After selecting a printer in the drop down list, there are many additional print settings that Word can have for a document.

Have you made sure that you're using the latest Office update?

File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now

We reinstalled it from scratch. He did not have MS 365 but Office 2021. I can check if there any other updates.

I subscribe to Microsoft 365. It's my understanding that MS 365 Office and Office 2021 are currently identical.

I cannot duplicate your problem and both my Word and Excel print as they should.

I found a person with the same issue. A MS Rep says there is a bug in Office causing this. However this thread was from almost three years ago (2021). I can't believe it is still there. I will run an Office update on his system to see if that fixes it. Otherwise in order to print a Word doc, he would have to convert it to a PDF.

It’s been an issue for a decade. Mostly Excel having the issue tho. Try what I mentioned before any drastic measures

Threads don't automatically get deleted, makes it very critical in the realm of accuracy/currency to note the date of the last post in a thread.

As to the printer, I have 2, an HP OfficeJet Pro and an HP LaserJet Pro, both are connected via Ethernet cable to my Wireless Router and any computer can use them whether Wired or Wireless/Wi-Fi. The key to using them is that Windows has a printer set as Default but programs can use any desired, whether actual printer or some identified as software such as Microsoft print to pdf, as chosen in the program and gets associated to the document involved.

First thing I would try is printing Word doc to the "microsoft print to pdf" printer option.

If that works, issue is with the printer setup NOT the actual print queue from Word.
