Windows Update throws error 0x800f081f when installing "2024-08 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5041587)".
I've run some DISM commands (see below). SFC found issues and corrected them, but the update still won't install. Suggestions?

Winver: Version 23H2 OS Build 22631.3527.

Thanks!!
Bob

Thanks for this. The installation of the update gets to 100% then fails.

1. Found issues and fixed them, still didn't fix my error.
2. Ran the .bat, didn't fix the problem.
3. SFC found no integrity violations
4. DISM just completes successfully. Issue persists.
5. Windows update is showing me a message to reinstall. I assume I won't lose anything. Right?

No, you won't lose any apps, settings, and files etc. I've used this more than once with no issues.
This is covered in this link (see under option one)
