8GB RAM vs. 16GB RAM on laptop

I have new HP laptop with 8GB RAM. I will buy new 8GB RAM so i have 16GB RAM. Will i have more iGPU RAM with 16GB RAM? On Steam Deck with 16GB RAM i have 1GB iGPU RAM but on laptop i have only 512MB (AMD Radeon Vega 7).

I'm not sure how it works with iGPUs especially in laptops, but, check Task Manager > Performance > Memory, and Task Manager > Performance > GPU

What problem if any are you having or want to improve with iGPU, dGPU, or RAM?

Open MSinfo32 > save as NFO > post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive

Fill in your computer specs, so we know which computer model you have. On some computers you can adjust the amount of reserved iGPU memory.

Some computers add 512MB of reseved iGPU VRAM per 8GB of physical RAM available. Others don't and some can be changed manually.

In most cases this does not make much difference, as the free RAM available will be given to the GPU at demand anyways. The more free RAM you have, the more will be given as VRAM to the GPU when needed.
