I'll start, I don't regret it but must say I've kept my older machines. I needed to see what my clients may run into so got a Notebook in Oct. and a Desktop in April because none of my computers could be properly Upgraded to Win11. Not a bad decision since my last New machine was in 2016.

I like both Win 10 and Win 11.
Ofc both needed to be tweaked to within an inch of their lives. :cool:

No regrets. My two supported devices have been running 11 since the launch and have now been updated to 22H2 through Windows Update.

For my unsupported devices, For the most part I have kept them on their original windows 10 installs, the one exception being my System Two which I treat as a test machine to see what, if any problems may occur running 11 on an unsupported device.

So far I've seen none, so I've increasingly been adding Windows 11 native boot .vhdx as a second boot option to all my unsupported devices. My unsupported System Four (in 'Other Info') is currently running the Insider Beta build 22623.730.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

I couldn't say regret or no regret, because I didn't switch. I simply had to buy a new W11 laptop because the old W10 laptop disintegrated. I will say that I am happy with my W11 laptop :-)

The rest of my stable is on W10, none of them satisfy W11 system requirements. I will say that I don't see a compelling reason to buy new W11 machines right now. Within a year of EOL of W10, I will start buying new W11 machines, i.e. starting in about 2 years from now. This forum has helped me with the advance planning, thank you forum(y)

I have a desktop that i use for gaming that was setup when Windows 10 was the latest thing. I then bought a BeeLink mini PC where I installed WIndows 11 to use it. I'm perfectly happy with using Windows 11 on my beelink, but i don't see any reason to move my desktop to WIndows 11. If it were to crash and had to be rebuild, I would just use Windows 11.

No regrets, plus I have Windows 10 installed on a separate drive so I can boot to it if necessary.

I just haven't found stability in Win11. I expected more. I don't care for flashy icons and bloatware. I just wanted stability. Once in a while it does a BSOD and says they are gathering info. No reason for that bsod.

None of my machines BSOD, whether they are supported devices for windows 11 or not.

There is always a reason for a BSOD, usually a driver incompatibility. There is a forum on Eleven Forum dedicated to solving BSOD issues. Read the posting instructions very carefully before posting there.

A similar question is 'what do computer manufacturers put on the market these days? How many W10 models? How many W11 models?'

Here are the Dell numbers for their desktop models:
W11 Home (54)
W11 Pro (42)
W10 Pro with W11 license (40)
W10 Pro (1)

Overall, W11 - W10 is 96 - 41
W11 wins, but the market for W10 is still quite strong, I wonder why. If it were car models, it would be 100 - 0. Anyway, the reasons could be explored with a poll.

I don't see why this thread should be locked either, it is quite useful to monitor people's perception of and experiences with a young OS, good or bad.

Moreover, threads like this will naturally pop up all the time, hopefully with more and more good, and less and less bad, as the young OS matures.

When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. I think the reason there are still current models available with an OEM W10 is more that they were designed/manufactured before 11 was generally available.

Which is IMHO surprising since it has been 15 months since W11 RTM. The Canadian Dell site is even worse:

W11 Home (66)
W11 Pro (32)
W10 Pro with W11 Pro Licencse (101)

Overall, W11 - W10 over there is 98 - 101, i.e. W11 lost very slightly.

Curious is also that the Canadian site offers many more models (199) than the US site (137)

My interest in my thread was about instability with Win11, not BSOD. Comparing to Win10, I would have stayed with Win10, which is much more stable. Apparently to someone, they thought I made a BSOD thread.
