So I follow this security practice of creating an alias for my MS 365 acccounts to login with in my sign-in preferences settings. ANd emails use the other alias. I started doing this because one time I noticed multiple login attempts on one of my accounts. Fortunately unsuccessfully. So from that point I use an alias to login and different name for emailing. My question is because you need to use the login alias to login that's the email name displayed in Outlook, WIndows Account, etc. I know with outlook you can change the display name and use a different name for outgoing emails. However there doesn't seem to be a way to change that when on WIndows itself. For example when viewing your Account Info in windows. It displays in the top left corner:
Name:
Name@outlook.com
I couldn't see a way to hide that or at least change the display name. Is that even possible?
I suppose the only exposure risk is mostly when sending emails. And that is mitigated by selecting the name you want as sender. But anything you have to login to your MS account will display the Login alias name.
