This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Learn more about this picture desktop icon when using Windows Spotlight as your desktop background for your account in Windows 11 and Windows 10.
Starting with Windows 10 build 19045.4116 (RP), Microsoft adds Desktop Spotlight to your desktop background. Just one click or tap of the icon on your desktop takes you to Bing, where you can explore the world one picture at a time.
When you choose to have Windows Spotlight as your desktop background or theme, it will add a Learn more about this picture icon on your desktop by default. The Learn more about this picture icon can be dragged to any location you want on your desktop.
You can hover over the Learn more about this picture desktop icon to see information about the current Windows Spotlight picture.
You can right click on the Learn more about this picture desktop icon to Open in Bing, Switch to next picture, rate I like this picture, or rate Not a fan of this picture.
If you choose a picture, solid color, or slideshow instead of Windows Spotlight as your desktop background, it will remove the Learn more about this picture icon on your desktop.
If you like, you can remove the Learn more about this picture desktop icon while still using Windows Spotlight as your desktop background.
Starting with Windows 11 build 23440, Microsoft has updated the icon that shows on the desktop for Windows Spotlight.
Starting with Windows 11 version 22H2 KB5030310 Build 22621.2361, Microsoft improves the Windows Spotlight experience. You can preview images in full screen using the Learn more button. This update also provides a minimized Windows Spotlight experience. There are many ways to learn more about each image. To open the Windows Spotlight flyout box, right-click the Spotlight icon on the desktop. To learn more about each image, double-click its icon to open a Bing landing page.
Starting with Windows 11 build 22635.3495 (Beta), Microsoft is beginning to try out some adjustments for Windows Spotlight experience on the desktop to make it easier for Spotlight users to engage with this feature to change images, like or not like an image etc. In addition, these changes will make the Spotlight icon behave like other desktop icons. There will be several different treatments these adjustments that Insiders will notice.

Here's How:
1 Do step 2 (add) or step 3 (remove) below for what you would like to do.
2 Add "Learn more about this picture" Desktop icon
This is the default setting.
The "Learn more about this picture" desktop icon will only show when using Windows Spotlight as your desktop background.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

3 Remove "Learn more about this picture" Desktop icon
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

4 Save the .reg file to your desktop.
5 Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
6 When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.
7 Right click on your desktop, and click/tap on Refresh (F5) your desktop to apply.
8 You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
