And an entire website devoted to just this game, with 1000's of members.

I just added three more courses to the "Courses List". They are all very hard.
Ardennes Dunes, Devils Island 2008, and Jungle Island.

I just added them to the list for when anyone is... feeling frosty, or like the courses are too easy.
The author: Andrew Jones, makes excellent courses. They are all technically perfect... but hard.

I updated the posts: #84 and #87 with the new courses.

Hmmm... seems there's interesting things in the Jungle Island. ^^

I use 7-zip, but it has the same problem... I had to manually un-associate 7-zip with ISO and CAB files.

As for "where" you install the program... you can leave it at default or edit the default location to somewhere else.
I installed Links 2003 on a storage drive because with all the downloaded courses you may want... it can get to be pretty large.

Mines up to 6.5GB with the extra courses.

Links 2003 keeps the save files on the Windows drive, but they are tiny. There's really not much to save except the character you chose, and that characters settings. It also saves things like the longest put or drive for each hole, etc.

It saves it in C:\Windows\Users\<user name>\Documents
So remember that if you ever reinstall Windows.

I've win 11 as well, tried to get links 2003 to work , though kept getting links to the black links screen windowed mode or, just load and drop.

I'm using Winzip, but dont see your picture options in winzip? Any ideas or help would be grateful :)

Without screenshots of some kind... I don't understand what you're asking.
Rough guess... if you're seeing a black screen when trying to run the game... you need to play around with those two patches.
You might also try using only one, or the order in which you apply them.
I included the link(s) to the Links 2003 forums, for any other technical issues.
I just put the steps that worked for ME, in the readme.

To post a screenshot on this forum...

1. Take the screenshot, edit it as desired, save to your desktop as .png or .jpg (max. size = 2MB)
2. Left click in your post, where you want to place the screenshot.
3. Click the Attach Files button at lower left, browse to your pic and click Insert.
4. After clicking Insert, I usually choose the Thumbnail option.

Just get EA PGA TOUR 2023. Not the 2k games like pga tour 2k23 or something.

Literally slaps about every golf game made. And ive been waiting for once since the tiger woods pga tour games on ps2!

It's been a while, but I remember having a similar problem.
It had to do with the patches.
As it says in the readme... do the RUKSHUK.exe patch first, then...
I think I installed the 1.07 patch then the Nvidia patch, then maybe the 1.07 patch again?

You might also want to check the posts that led up to and included this one....
This post has Windows Defender things you may have to deal with.

You might have to make exceptions in Windows Defender for....
The entire download. Every file in the download.

I don't use Windows Defender, so I can't test that. Bitdefender has no problem with any of these files.

But I have seen Windows Defender get a bit over zealous at times.

Just about everything I or @johnlgalt (he tested for me), can think of... is in this topic already.

When you say exception: Windows Defender ,
What does that mean exactly and how's that done?

So far, I have installed the d/load for links
Links2K3_Down.exe
Links2K3_Players.exe
(and the courses ,though to another folder for now. I'll assume that exception is needed after the install ? )

I'm about to try GoBucks method of step by step getting links to work.

Windows Defender Antivirus, is where you have to make the exceptions so WD won't scan those files.
I would make WD exceptions for the game's executable, the three patches, and the whole game installation folder.

As I said though, I don't use Windows Defender, so you'll have to figure out how to make the exceptions yourself.

Ghot, Any back and forth aside and in all seriousness, Have you looked into the new ea pga tour game? Even watch some videos? I know you love youre links game and older games in general, I wouldn't waste my time imploring you to atleast look if i didn't think you would genuinely maybe atleast have a chance of enjoying it, and seeing as it is golf related. Its maybe one game we can have some common ground on! Not saying stop playing links and go buy this and never bother again, Just atleast give it a look and see what you think.
