ASUS motherboards Ready for Windows 11


A diverse range of ASUS motherboards are ready for the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build. Users can enable Windows 11 support on their motherboard by following one of the two methods below:

Method 1

Update to the latest BIOS to get​

Windows 11 support​

Just because a motherboard is compliant doesn't mean a thing if you can't stick an compatible CPU in it.

Unless someone makes some kind of software wrapper to falsify the CPU's identity, remember the Voodoo Glide wrappers for those with out a 3dfx card, this is going nowhere.

but 100 chipset series ASUS boards like Z170 are not fully supported - Asus has not yet provided the necessary BIOS updates for those boards to enable Intel PTT in the BIOS as that option is missing for most Z170 boards

It's in the Z170-P as I have one, seems a bit odd though looking at the ASUS list as to why there are missing boards.

May be an idea to keep checking the list or look and see if a bios has appeared, I'm pretty sure the list has changed a couple of times.

Yeah, it seems some (most?) Asus Z170 boards don't outright support firmware TPM (odd since firmware (PTT) TPM has been around since 2013). Anyway, per Asus, there are some Z170 boards "compatible" with Windows 11 (although Microsoft may not agree considering those boards don't support 8th gen CPU's) :unsure: Anyway...

Well, I don't know about mobos but something weird happened to my Asus laptop after a recent Windows 11 update.

When I am booted into WinPe mode, the screen now only uses 800x600 resolution. I googled this and it seems the bios is not loading the video drivers properly.

One user suggested this was a secure boot issue.

So I turned off secure boot, and then it was back to full HD resolution. Turned it back on, and back to lo res.

Whilst not a big deal, it is irritating. Fortunately Macrium Reflect V8 menus were redesigned so all menus were usable on low res mode (the older fix does not seem to work anymore).

Edit: I just added a native w11 vhd bcd boot entry, and winpe mode is back to full resolution. Weird!

Edit 2: it is the W11 Dev post 22000 builds that do this weird behavior.

Everytime I add that, low winpe.

Remove it no change.

Add another vhd boot entry, high res.

Same aa above, secure boot off is, low res.
