Usually, free accounts can stream up to 30mins of music with no ads but you can't play specific track. It will play random track from your favorite artist.

That's cool.
I'll pay money for a tangible music product but not for a service.
I just don't need it..., I have tens of thousands of music files, 20TB of hard drives at home, a 1TB microSD card in my phone..., I take my music with me, I don't need it delivered to me for a fee!

I do have my collection too. Saved on my NAS. Spotify is just very convenient wherever you are.
This how I sometimes listen to my collection.

It's just a nice experience to talk to your car and ask it to play any music or song you want to listen to while driving... Just ripping the fruits of my labor and enjoying the technology I can afford to pay. I don't want to go through a long list of my songs. I can just pull it up with a voice command at home or on the road.

That's a good point about just using voice command to find a track or album. Don't have that feature. I just set Plexamp to random play and that works for me when driving. Also, since my car has a CD player, I''l just pop in one of my custom-made CD's when needed. Here's some of them. I also use my photography to create the album covers such as the one for "A familiar Yet Distant Place", Andrew's Groove, Bridge Through Time, Experiments In Sound - Vol, and Feels Like Home. No, I am not a DJ. I just mess up with music for fun.
My speakers are the Kanto YU6 ones. I chose this pair of speakers for its turntable preamp and bluetooth capability. I also have a small vinyl collection of my favorite songs and artists.

LOL - I was doing that with Virtual DJ, but without the turntable setup (forgot the name of the unit) you have. It's like trying to drive blind

They look somewhat similar to the Audioengine A5+ speakers

I'm a music collector so also collect vinyl, though not lately since I've packed my stereo equipment away. I'm looking for bring the turntable back, just need to find space for the phono amp and turntable in my cluttered workspace.

The unit is called midi or DJ controller.

I am not really a vinyl collector or an enthusiast. I just have the ones that remind me of my youth.

I also highly considered those A5 speakers when I was looking for one a few years ago. But it still requires a preamp to connect a turntable. Also, I wanted a futureproof speakers and looked for the one with optical input and bluetooth. And thar's how I ended up with YU6. My main PC is connected to it via optical cable. It has 2 optical inputs. The second optical input is connected to a Google Chromecast so I can play music on Spotify via voice command.

Well I've been collecting since 1976, when I initially got into music. My early collection was "lost" when I went away to the military. Anyway, here's some of what I still have. It's actually 4 shelves deep...

Some of my "audiophile jazz stuff...

My Denon DP-47F turntable I still have. This was actually my first photograph I ever sold....

I don't have to worry about that since my DAC has line-in inputs. I can simply connect my phono amp to it, and turntable to the amp. And since the A5+ are powered, I run them directly off the DAC as it also provides RCA and XLR outputs. That's why I bought that particular DAC - it's versatility in having both line in and out options.

I also don't need Bluetooth, and in fact wouldn't use it if I did as I feel you get better SQ wired. That's me. BTW Audioengine does make a BT A5+ and their "flagship" HD6 BT powered speakers.

Digital music have come a long way. They denitely sound better now than before. I just wanted a simplified setup where DAC can be skipped that's why I looked for a pair of speakers with optical input, too. Kanto YU6 can do 192khz/24bit via optical. My ears would probably not hear the difference even if I have a DAC.

Bluetooth is just for convenience if I have to use my laptop. I don't need to run a wire all the time.

My DAC natively supports resolutions up to 384kHz/32-bit as well as 11.2MHz DSD as shown in this in my linked video - all through USB as well as optical cable

I do hear a difference in things, which is why I do what I do and use what I use. YMMV

Yeah, not really necessary for me. I can't tell the difference between 24bit and 32 bit.
I would rather spend the extra $1000 to pay for the convenience of Spotify. Or get another DJ controller. :)

I would rather pay for what I did and got. I also don't believe in paying for music streaming services, thus to each his own

The beauty of digitizing my collection is re-discovering stuff I've not played in a long while :)
