Switched it up a bit, brought the Laptop closer, handier that way..., turntable went to the laptop desk...

I know who he is, I'm just not into him. And I'm with you on being in the mood for certain types of music. I'm the same way

Anyway, it appears I found the culprit causing my GPU/constant game crashes. It turned out to be a failing Power Supply. Checking the BIOS, I found my +5V and 3.3V voltages were off.

Installing the Power Supply from my backup system seems to have solved that and other nagging issues like the BIOS not remembering it's settings if the system was completely powered off. The main thing though is no more GPU/hard lock issues, so....

External Sound Card/DAC question...

Mobo: ASRock B450m/ac
Onboard Sound: Realtek ALC892
Headphones: Razer Blackshark v2 X

I would like to get something better than onboard. An external is my best solution for the foreseeable future, so I'd like some ideas/suggestions. If possible, I'd like to get something under $100-125.

Thanks for ideas/advise...

DACs can come in many forms, including incorporation into the soundcards. They also come in many shapes and sizes with many features.

You can get when I call a pen DAC, which is simply a flash drive size DAC with a simple USB input and mini-RCA output. Or you can get a dedicated outboard (external) DAC with incorporating multiple inputs and output features. To also include a built-in headphone amp.

With that my suggestion is to determine why you feel you want a DAC and how you want to use it in your system. That said, for the budget you set, you aren't going to get a feature rich DAC.

Honestly, I never thought I'd have all this stuff interconnected but, the NAD is doing a good job of it..., sounds good too!
All pumped into the Mirage Sub/Edifier Speakers.

I thought about adding my Rotel RSP-1066 DSP/Pre-amp to my desktop system, but it's redundant since I already have a DAC with a volume control and multiple inputs.

Mine's not the most ideal setup, the way it's daisy-chained together, but, it sounds fine and, it beats fumbling around with multi, separate component systems.

We have different setups, so I understand you have to do things differently

Anyway, I still want to maintain a small footprint. Wish I would have gotten the like sized TEAC CD player PD-501 to match my DAC...

Could have stacked them and kept them the same cubbyhole.

Yeah, I often Jerry-rig stuff just to make it work, but, it's all good.
To be honest, I'm ecstatic to finally have a well organized and productive office environment..., compared to the

-hole it was 6 months ago!

K..., this is weird!
On W10, my Sub ceases to pass-through to my Edifier's when the PC goes into Sleep state..., and it's when I'm listening to FM radio through the NAD, of all things!
Can't sort it...
