I absolutely love open back headphones for their more lifelike sound and clarity of detail. That said, the big negative (for people outside the headphone) is sound leakage - People can hear your music when using open back phones.

Not an issue for me though as neither my HD700 or HD 800 S leave the house, and I have my own man-cave, so no one to disturb :p

I do it all the time. Use to it by now. Listening to music now with the headphones and glasses on. Since I'm out and about, I have my wireless Bose 700 NC phones. I don't use them for my home system though.

I bought my wife a pair of the Bose 700 NC headphones. She said they didn't have enough bass. So, I got her Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones based solely on the bass ratings. She enjoys them more. She'll alternate which she listens to. She'll wear the 700s to garden, for instance.

I'm not a bass monster so what the Bose brings is good enough for me. If it was all about the bass, I would have looked at Beats :cautious:

My Senns aren't "bass heavy" phones but they're very balanced with excellent mids and treble, and their bass response is very good. They just won't gut punch you.

I like to hear the bass, but I don't like my bones to be jarred with it like my wife does. As you point out, the Sennheiser's have a nice, balanced sound. They deliver enough bass to feel the full "flavor" of the music. It's probably truer to the recording studio sound because it doesn't crank up any one part of the music.

Techniques always made good turntable. I remember them from back in 70s when we used to hold block parties and all the DJs were using Techniques turntables. I still have an older lower lever one, but the one you show is levels above.

Still have this on my mind - DP-3000NE. Just trying to figure out if I really need it. Pretty much set on CDs now, and I still have my older Denon.

Yeah, and though it appears I have money to burn, it's actually quite the opposite.

What I've done (and been doing) is putting some money I've saved up for the toys I want so that I don't have to pay for them later as I get older (currently 65). Meaning by the time I look at replacing those, I'm looking at least 75. Hardly the time then to be buying frivolous things :oops:

My point.... I think my allotment for such things are coming to an end and that turntable may be a casualty of that 🤷‍♂️

They have fantastic sound. With 60mm drivers, the bass is nice and rich without being overbearing. I'm glad I snagged a pair before they sold out!
