Yeah, that's what I was saying when I tried Audirvana.

Anyway, JRiver has excellent forum support and they're quick to answer questions, so don't hesitate to use them as I do. You can get to the forum by clicking "Help" and clicking "Support Forum". Obviously, you'll need to register to post.

That said, per the title, he could have told us what strings and why. They look like gold strings, but what else?

The strings in this video are Optima 24K Gold Bass Strings
He does seem a little show-offy!

Checked out the album sampler - totally my cup of tea as I have a lot of stuff like it. I'm also an EDM and electronica fan

And yeah the bass is definitely earth shattering :)

I picked up my Sub off the floor onto a padded bench, seems to radiate more cleanly!
On the floor seemed overkill, a mess of radiating echo chambers in my crappy floor!

I've not heard you mention JRiver since your last query. Did you decide to move on from it and stick with Foobar2000?

Reading some comparisons on various media players, I ran across a post mentioning Teac's Hi-Res player. I'd forgotten about the player as I don't use it because it's very limited - you can't import folders, only files. The files need to be saved as a playlist and will need to be loaded each time you open the player. There are no audio adjustments, it's just a simple audio player supporting Hi-Res files.

That said, I decided to install it (had it forever) and give it a try with my hi-res Hiromi album and do a quick comparison to JRiver (disabling JRiver's audio enhancements - EQ, Effects). To my ears Teac has a slightly better soundstage and is slightly louder (with JRiver's audio enhancement off), but JRiver outshines it in bass response and cleaner highs - cymbals are cleaner in JRiver.

Feature wise JRiver / Audirvana in a landslide

At the end of the day, I'm reminded why I didn't have the Teac player installed. That said, it does handle Hi-Res files very well, but to my ears not as good as JRiver or Audirvana. Can't speak on Foobar2000 simply because I've never used it.

BTW the player can only be used with Teac's ASIO driver. It is a free download from Teac's site.

Still putzin around with it when I get a chance. I'll probably stick with foobar for now though.

I think it's always best to stick to the app that feels best for your needs. For me its JRiver since I like what it does. YMMV

I keep an odd eye on things though!
