Well, today I made the decision to forgo my new PC build I was planning. Now that's off till at least next year.

With that, today I pulled the trigger on a new headphone amp, and DAC - that is a dedicated DAC; a dedicate headphone amp.

I'm thinking about setting up my turntable as I certainly have the space for it now. In fact, I'm actually thinking about getting this for my birthday next year.... DP-3000NE. I could get it now, but I've already spent too much on electronics this year. Also gives me time to decide if I "really" want a turntable.

I was just reading this (again) and realized of have 5 of those 7 albums (all on CD). Don't have the Beatles or Beach Boys albums.

The only vinyl I have on that list is Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, and Prince. With that, I can't remember the last time I bought any vinyl.

On a side note, I also have that Genesis' Duke on vinyl, but haven't heard it in years being no turntable setup.

The only Genesis I have are Abacab, and Invisible Touch. I have this > Ababcab boxed edition (click more images under the image to see what the package looks like). Found it used for 9 bucks some years back. Never really got into it though.

Man, I'm loving these speakers; they sound so much better than my A5+ speakers, especially at low volume. The one issue I had with the A5+ is they sounded muffled at low volume. Here the HD6 sound is forward in the mids, so they sound better at low volumes, whereas the A5+ mids are recessed requiring higher volumes to make them sound good.

Anyway, I run them off my Teac CD player with built pre-amp/DAC. Would have loved to run them off my Pontus DAC (the better DAC), but it's already outputting to my headphone amp which I much prefer. So happy I got these speakers.

Testing out my new Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones and FiiO K5 Pro DAC with Black Country Communion's, "Song of Yesterday".


The sound is amazing. Joe Bonamassa's guitar is so clean. His and Glenn Hughe's vocals are well-defined. @Dru2 indicated I should give the headphones a burn-in period for best sound. I can't wait to hear it!
