Also the higher the resolution the less it should be CPU bound and more GPU boundIndeed. Those two games and also Red Dead Redemption 2 and many future AAA titles are beasts. They require quite a lot of both CPU and GPU. Not necessarily calculation performance but data throughput.
While you are on this a bit older CPU, rather config the games you play to have a bit lower but stable framerates at let's say 60 rather than try to push beyond 100FPS and get variation over 25%. The games will feel much smoother despite lower framerates because of stability.
