Best Media Player?

Back in my single days the Drive-In Theaters were the best. Didn't even care if the movie was good or not. Surprisingly we do still have at least one Drive-In left in N.J. It's in Vineland N.J. Another little known or unknown fact, the first Drive-In was in 1933, located in Camden N.J.

We can legally make backups of our music and videos in the U.S. We can't legally circumvent the encryption. IMHO, the biggest reason why we are limited in our Fair Use rights is because of all the illegal file sharing that use to happen. I don't see the RIAA and the MPAA going after someone who only makes backup copies for their own use. I don't know the law in the UK, but I do know the developer of DVD Decrypter got into trouble years ago.

IMHO, we are very close to seeing the end of any media being sold on disk. High speed internet is changing a lot of how we get our media content. I'm into watching old TV shows. Most of the shows I don't have on DVD, I have been buying through Amazon. I also use SiriusXM and Spotify for my music.

I remember some of that drama as well. The recording industry even went after hardware vendors making CD/DVD recording devices.

Anyway, in the simple here and now... yes, you can rip your own music to PC/disc for personal use ;-)

Yeah... we heard the same thing about vinyl being dead. However, it's very much alive today. I can even walk into a Barnes & Noble, or Best Buy and buy a newly released "vinyl album" ;-)

BTW... Put Down the Vinyls. CDs Are Making a Comeback After 17 Years

All that said, ironically due to wanting to "downsize" my collection (which I also digitized), I actually started buying hi-res music from such places as HDtracks, Qobuz, and 7Digital.

IMHO there is nothing that even comes close to Daum PotPlayer. Even handles massive speed correction (slowing down) where there is a lot of subtitle text to be read and that too without any distortion of the sounds/voices/pitch. BTW it can handle all resolutions, codecs and containers.

Believe me the entire range of Linux players suck big time in comparison. Gave up on VLC when it could not even handle minor corrections like 1/2 or 1 second synch corrections for audio or subtitles. Also the subtitles would simply disappear if you changed the playback speed.

and there is a separate bluray addon you can get that will fully enable commercial bluray playback..
ie. content decryption.. all you need is the actual disc legit owned and your good to go..

1) is the .dll addon drop it in the VLC media player main folder.. 32bit and 64bit supported..
2) the keydb.cfg file, which goes in a new folder at C:\ProgramData\aacs
