Solved Brightness slider missing

The brightness slider under Display settings disappeared today. I have tried numerous troubleshooting options, but nothing has worked. I uninstalled the monitor drive and reinstalled it to no avail.

Rather than looking at the monitor driver, take a look at the display driver. Make sure that you have a current driver. For some systems, it may be necessary to have an OEM version of the display driver from the maker of the system in order to control brightness.

    The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.
