BSODs and Often Overnight on HP Omen 30L

My HP Omen 30L seems to have a problem where it reboots frequently overnight or just mid day. Rarely while I am using it but sometimes, once in while on launching a program. Stock power supply. Cooling vents and fans clean. Any help very much appreciated!

I removed Norton 360
Rebooted
Ensured Defender was enabled
Ran Tune up plus
Upgraded HP PC HW Diags UEFI to v10.7.3.0
Ran PC HW Fast tests and all passed (have log if needed)
Booted
Created Restore Point
Ran V2 log collector...Log attached

Only a portion of the typical V2 files were present after uninstalling Norton.

Please uninstall Malwarebytes.

Perform Windows and defender updates.

Run V2 > post a share link

Boot into safe mode > run V2 again > post another share link

Will do...and so I'm clear, when you say "...post a share link...", you mean, for example, 'share the resulting log file Zip on Google Drive' with 'anyone with this link can access' set..is that right....vs. just attaching it here?

The V2 share link in the opening post was missing many files.

Norton was uninstalled to see if it was interfering with V2.

The next software to check is Malwarebytes.

Then check safe mode.

At some point it may be possible to identify the software that is blocking V2 from collecting the log files used for troubleshooting.

OK, Malwarebytes also fully uninstalled and rebooted. Here is new V2 Log collection. PC rebooted while I was out for a couple of hours ahead of grabbing this log.

Sorry but my Task Manager looks a lot different than that...has icons down the left. It has a "Startup Apps" icon, but that just gives me a list of enabled and disabled programs. Top right there are "Run new Task" and enables disable or properties for individual apps. No option for "Disable all startup items"....puzzled???

OK, disabled all in Taskmanager, then hid all MS Services then disabled all in msconfig...rebooted. Ran V2 Log Collector and logs are here: DEEPOMEN-(2025-03-23_13-11-53).zip

Please open msconfig > count the boxes checked > divide by 2

This time check each group > run V2 for each group > record which group 1 and group 2

The goal is to keep splitting the number of checked boxes to see which group allows V2 to collect or not collect the needed troubleshooting files.

Example:

group 1 13 boxes
group 2 12 boxes

If:
group 1 fails
group 2 works

continue with the fail group and divide by 2 again

new group 1 has 7 boxes
new group 2 has 6 boxes

If:
group 1 fails
group 2 works

continue with the fail group and divide by 2 again

new group 1 has 3 boxes
new group 2 has 4 boxes

etc.

OK, let me be sure I understand please...

I run MSCONFIG and since we're looking for 'boxes', I go to 'Services'
I 'Hide All Microsoft Services' right?
Then I am left with (41) Boxes, all of which are UNCHECKED
So now I'm enabling half of them and trying the V2 Collector??
Question: How will I know if the V2 Collector succeeds in capturing what we need? Do I link share the resulting files each time?

Each time the group that blocks V2 will be cut in half until the blocking software is identified.

For the start of 41 create a group of 21 and 20 > post the V2 for each group

Whichever group has incomplete V2 files I'll report to you.

Then the next group to cut in half will either be 21 or 20.
etc.

Understood, thanks. Here is a link to a folder that contains both Log Zips...one has Group 21 in the name and the other Groups 20. Please advise and then I gather I will then Enable all boxes in the Group for the group that is NOT blocking, and I will then split the other group into two groups of wither 10 or 10 and 11 depending....Disable half of them re post, try the other repost and go from there. Let me know if U have it wrong.

So neither recreated the problem where folders and files were not collected.

1) Place the computer back into normal boot > post a new V2

2) Hide all Microsoft services

3) Click the column top (manufacturer) to sort

4) Reconfirm #41 boxes

5) Post 4 groups of different disabled services: 10, 10, 10, 11
