Thanks for sticking with me on this....I'm not clear on how to reinstall the chipset drivers...they don't update when I right click in Device Manager...I see the .sys file but unclear how ro cause a reinstall.

Again, thanks for your patience in working through this with me..sounds like we're getting to the issue.

I installed those two drivers and rebooted, then created a System Restore point.

Shall I run a few days before reinstalling Norton 360?...or can I go ahead and do that now?

So I had a few days of stability including after reinstalling Norton 360. But now when I return to my system I find it is in sleep mode and can not be awakened my wired keyboard or wired mouse....have to power off and boot. I then may go a day or more with no issue or I will, within a few minutes of the boot up, get a BSOD and be forced to restart.
I thought we had it fixed with your good help....back to wondering what to do next here again. Thanks much for further guidance.

Thank you for your reply @zbook. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't follow what I can do next here.... I did search for a new driver, but oncly found installers for that driver on certain motherboards or storage controllers I guess...

Anyway, if you would be so kind as to help me get going in the right direction here, I'd sure apreciate it. I rely on this machine for some of my video work and it either goes to sleep and won't wake or it fully BSODs with a message that the nt kernel is what crashed.

If you could help me with where I can get a driver and what step I can take to install it (and??? apparently disable some Windows services at the same time????) ??

THANK YOU all for the good help...saldy I am no further along toward stability yet.

The log files reported corruption on H: and U:.

Please reattach drives H: and U:

Make sure that all drives are tested in sequence.

1) Run Sea Tools Long generic test (all drives) > post images or share links

2) Run HD Tune (all drives) (run an old version so that it produces results for the whole drive)
HD Tune website
a) Health
b) Full error scan

3) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

chkdsk /b /v

Run these chkdsk switches on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /b /v C: or chkdsk /b /v D: or chkdsk /b /v E: etc.

Make sure that the windows drive runs overnight while sleeping.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: Y

Reboot as needed.

4) After completing all chkdsk /b /v run:

https://www.tenforums.com/attachmen...-files-use-bsod-debugging-chkdskfromevent.bat

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Batch files for use in BSOD debugging - Windows 10 Help Forums

Make sure that this runs only after the prior three steps for each drive.

5) Run HD Sentinel (all drives) > post images or share links (do not run until posting results for each steps 5, 6, 7 and 8)

Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring
a) Overview
b) Temperature
c) SMART

6) Please make sure that all of the above steps are performed in sequence

These steps / tests can be performed overnight while sleeping:

a) Sea Tools Long generic test
b) HD Tune Full error scan
c) Chkdsk /b /v
