C drive nearly full, why?

That's like 30% of your drive size. Most times System Restore is 5-10%.

Why so much space?

Assuming you don't count on System Restore points you currently have, did you try and turn it off which will delete all current points? You can then turn it back on and create a restore point manually

Very odd that deleting restore points, leaving only 1, still leaves 6 files which look as if they are restore points. I wonder if there is a problem with Win 11 not deleting restore points when it should.

You can limit the size to 320MB minimum or more, that should also remove any used space over the limit.

I stopped using System Restore years ago. System Restore has let me down way more times than it has helped me. An imaging program such as Macrium Reflect is more dependable.

As did I. SR has not been even reasonably dependable for me since Windows 7. In the years since WIndows 10 came out, not one time has system restore worked when I needed it, both on my own system , but others as well. I turned it off and reclaimed the disk space as I felt it was useless.

This. Not deleting, but turning it off completely. then reboot. Then see how much space you have left.

Don't worry for now about the comments regarding whether it works or not - obviously you have several hundred MBs of files, so yours is saving ... something. Once you have the space recovered, then let's target if you want to turn it back on, or go with something else. One step at a time.
