Thinking about keeping it simple on the rule-side in the new game, and I thought we'd start with something like this:

Basic Rules (Subject to change over time, with the agreement of the then-current players):

Change one letter only, to produce a different English word.
You don't need to scan the previous pages, but don't re-use a word that's been used on the current page.

Do you think we need anything about simple plurals and/or present-tense verbs in -s?

I think plurals and present-tense verbs ending in -s are fine. The simpler the rule, the better in my mind. We don't want something too complex as to dissuade others from joining in.
