Custom Icons for Windows 11 Thread (Folders, Dropbox, Google Drive, Podcasts, NVME Drive, Steam, Adobe)

If I use a custom icon, does it have to be permanently stored somewhere or does Windows save it somewhere?

Windows does not save it. My experience is if you delete the icon file selected, the folder icon will be shell32.dll, 1 an unspecified file.

@spettojim This work is fantastic, especially on the colored folders. May I make a few requests in this style?
1. The GOG file in the original message, but with another smaller circle inside it
2. A bright red folder (bright red top left, about the lightest color of the draw file on the bottom right), with a white youtube logo in it (with the 3D effect like in the origin folder).
3. The Uplay folder, colors inverted, with the top of a medieval castle, white, with shadow, instead of the Uplay icon (and on the right side)
4. A minecraft themed icon (for a sibling), green colors of white spotify folder, a square made of a 6x6 'pixel arrangement' with the pixels being set into the folder at random depths like the Blizzard folder (if this is out of scope totally ok)
5. The GOG folder with the icon being a thicker-lined icon similar to this image (https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/mod...p-button-timer-line-icon-design-116925087.jpg), with the same purple color as the GOG folder
6. The same folder as #3, except with the orange color of the Origin folder, with a reddish orange fade

Sorry if this is way too specific or anything, I'm kinda new to this, these might be fun, really love your work, thanks in advance :)

I posted the color version of the Mega Pack. The icons were totally remade to achieve a better quality. As the files got too big, download it from Mega

Really appreciate it, this would be so nice for organizing files!
PS: I'd prefer the colors to remain matched to the original folder set I replied to. Just to clarify :)

Tweaks: Circle inside purple circle folder filled in, both white circles (or maybe just outside) have a shadow); timer folder has a thicker icon (still with shadow!) and possibly a light blue variation? I’d also like to see if you could make another folder with the same light blue color scheme and a cartoon sword

I've used that site before many times, but it doesn't work for those GIGABYTE ICO files.


Also, in the other icon packs by spettojim, the ICO files are 64 x 64 pixels, and the PNG files are 256 x 256 pixels.
So, I can't get good 256 x 256 pixel PNG files from those ICO files.

By the way, this site is also pretty good at all sorts of conversions.

I found band logos on several PNG sharing then I converted them into black and white ico files.
