Did you ever create me the ico files for Movies, TV Shows, HTML, & Software? If so, I can't find them.

I really appreciate those NVMe icons. I kept having trouble remembering which of my non-system drives was my other NVMe drive. Now I won't have that issue. Thanks!

Conversion for standard icons is quite a deal.
The main template is in 256px, so to ensure the best conversion, it is better to use multiple (such as 512 or 1024) if you really need to first work with big images.
Then, you have the 7 other sizes, which cannot all be divided from the main one (which needs shifting here and there before conversion) with reworking edges and corners.
Some kind of work.


I found a 2023 Photoshop folder on DeviantArt which is rather good, but blurred in small sizes.
I cleaned the edges and corners, and recreated the small sizes in the standard layout.

Used an NVMe icon to change the drive icons for C:, D:, and F: in File Explorer's This PC. Not much detail, but it was fun.

The second is from my old free pack. I just changed its colour.

That was good of you, but not necessary. It's a snap to click each of your images in #1069, right-click the blow-up and choose Save Image As ..., leave it the default .jpg, open that in your image viewer of choice (I use IrfanView because it's so amazingly versatile), and save it as <filename>.ico. And there it sits, with some others:

Actually, if I try to right click and save the original images, the first comes in as a .WEBP and second as a .JPG, and look different from the ones in the archive:



Naturally, YMMV - but in most cases it is better to have the actual .ICO files directly.

I only did what I described with the second one. It came in as a .jpg, and I converted it to an icon and made the background invisible. Looks like this in the editor:

Now check the file sizes and dimensions. It really is better to stick with the native .ico file IMO.

11F converts any input format to WebP. Whether you upload a JPG, PNG, TIFF, APNG, or AWebP, it will convert all of them to WebP, which is a compressed still image. I usually upload PNG-8 images (because its smaller colour gamut reduces the size), but uploading them as JPG only makes things worse. However, both JPG and WebP have an artefact effect that can lead to jagged/pixelated edges due to their compression algorithm. I don't care about it here and there (in this forum or anywhere else)! I just like what I am watching/seeing on the web to be clear enough if I decide to save them for my archive (BTW, I don't have any eye problem!).

If you don't mind and you don't consider it rude, I would suggest not converting any image format to "ico" format, except PNG, BMP, GIF, or JP2 (JPEG 2000 with transparency/alpha channel support) formats. The clarity of icons is crucial, especially when they need to be small (16px, 32px, etc.). Icon design is a handcrafted art that demands clarity and precision. Unlike modern-day icons that are drawn in vector and converted to raster images, professional icons are usually designed pixel by pixel. This approach ensures that the icons remain clear and precise even in small sizes. Most vector-drawn icons, on the other hand, tend to have vague or foggy pixels when viewed at small sizes.

When I directly downloaded the images you originally put up, one came as webp and the other as jpg. Same browser and session.

^^^^^^ This. That is why I was trying to get Wisewiz to look at the individual file properties.

Even my screen shot shows the 2 dimensional images to be differently sized very clearly.

I just don't have the actual experience with digital media to explain it - I know computers lol. I don't know digital media, particularly digital imagery, other than copying, pasting , resizing and annotating lol.

As I said in 1070, I got a .jpg from the right-hand image, and that converted very quickly and easily to a 256x256 .ico. Icon-sized file.
