Hello,
I want to disable internet access to one of the user on my pc. I have done it using proxy settings and then gpedit.msc so user can't change those settings. But whenever user tries to access webpage the error message "Can not connect to proxy server" is displayed.
Is there any way that I can change this message to some custom text?
Thank You.

Hello @inwell. If you have blocked the internet to a specific user using a proxy (and the address: 127.0.0.1 port: 80) enabling it under Internet Settings you should not have any message appearing apart from the "Can't connect to the proxy server" on the window popping up on your browser. Obivously if you do not block the "proxy access" to the user, he will still access the settings.

What do you mean about custom text?

@RobDF Hello,
I have blocked the user from accessing internet using proxy settings (if any other option available, pls guide me, i will try that).User can't change those settings as I have limited his access using gpedit(he is not having administrator privilege).
When he access internet using browser, he gets the "can not connect to proxy server" msg.
I wish if i could use some diff custom text if possible like " sorry, no internet available, or please contact administrator" etc.

Thanks

Hello @inwell. I have checked on different ways to block access to a user, and there are qutie a few, but have not found anything similar to what yo uasked.
I do not hink it is possible to customize the message but if I strike on something, you will be the first to be informed about it.

Check on these documentation I found and please let me know if it is helping.

All the best

You should be able to block his internet access in the router settings. Block by MAC address not IP address as he may refresh his IP address.

This is a single pc windows machine with 3 diff user accounts...so that won't work for me.
