When I bought my laptop in 2021 with Windows 10, it didn't have Device Encryption, even though it said "Your device meets the requirements for enhanced hardware security" in Windows Defender. Now in Windows 11 24H2's January update, it is visible now in Settings. What could have been the reason for its unavailability and now a sudden availability? Also, would enabling it slow down my PC a bit?
