Does this exist.

I'd probably use a USB C extension cable.

There are many out there. Here's one.
Just so I'm on the right thinking page, the intent is to connect the front USB C port by utilising the rear USB C I/O port, ( see images ).

Connect 1 to 2, connect 3 into 4, connect 5 to the rear USB C port.

Is that correct?

The easiest way is to use a longish usb c male to usb c female lead plugged into the rear panel usb c port.

Your convoluted suggestion would require:

a usb c to type e adapter into the rear port ( this one is 10gbps )

usb-c-to-type-e.jpg

and a type e male to type e female lead that would plug into the above adapter and then be fed throught the case ( this one is 10gbps )

But I dont know if it supports only the standard 5w charging or the fast 20w charging.

(snip)

Sure.

The OP would then plug a USB C device into the extension cable, and not use the port in the front panel. That would get away from any need to regularly access the rear I/O port.

If that's acceptable, it would be a simpler solution.

Do the various adapters/extenders limit the available charging current that the rear USB C port could otherwise supply? (Not a rhetorical question.)

Of course. It is a lot easier and only costs £5.99. I already made a suggestion in post #39 for the cable.

USB C Extension Cable 1M USB 3.2 10Gbps Nylon USB Type C Extender Cord 100W Fast Charge Data Transfer 4K@60Hz Video

Or £6.99 and 15% voucher.

it doesnt look pretty because they are expecting it to be inside the case. Which is what you were planning if I understood correctly.
Depending how long the type E lead is from your recently purchased front panel, you might only need a 30cm or 50cm usb c male to usb c female and this little thing below.

you could wrap a bit of electrical tape around the exposed part if you are worried some other thing flailing around inside your pc case might touch it

Yes insulating tape or some shrink tubing will do it, It is already on order, on an Amazon slow boat. :-)

The right angle adapter looks like it would have no exposed conductors. Not that it matters much.
