Solved Dual booting with Linux and Windows via std blue boot screen


Hmm - that is interesting - I did not know you could do this as you are in a PE environment and have not yet selected a Windows session.

That's because you're not in a PE environment. The Standard (Blue) boot menu "pre-loads" your default OS, so it's running in the background.
So when you select your default OS from the Blue boot menu it goes instantly to your login screen.

If you select anything other than the default OS, the computer needs to reboot.

I got tired of the reboots and switched to the Legacy boot menu which doesn't preload anything.
So in my case, a photo does need to be taken :-)
