This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable using a Copilot inspired theme in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Microsoft Edge is the AI-powered browser. A smarter way to browse. As the only browser built and optimized for Windows, it’s AI-powered tools are designed to help you make the most of your time online. Whether you’re searching, shopping or gaming, AI-powered tools and a security-first approach help you stay productive, save money, and get things done your way.
Copilot Mode is now available in Microsoft Edge to try as a new experimental mode. Starting at the end of May 2025, users may see suggested work and productivity-related Copilot prompts by their search box on the NTP page. Also, users may see the Copilot icon in their search box allowing them to click on the icon to send their current search query to Copilot.
With Copilot Mode on, you enable innovative AI features in Edge that enhance your browser. It doesn’t just wait idly for you to click but anticipates what you might want to do next. It doesn’t just give you endless tabs to sift through but works with you as a collaborator that makes sense of it all. It keeps you browsing, cuts through clutter and removes friction to unlock your flow – all built to the highest Microsoft standards of security, privacy and performance trusted by billions of people and businesses worldwide – with you as the user always in control.
When you open a new tab in Edge with Copilot Mode on, you’ll see a clean, streamlined page with a single input box that brings together chat, search and web navigation. Copilot understands your intent and helps you get started faster. Copilot Mode also sees the full picture across your open tabs, and you can even instruct it to handle some tasks. Turn your browser into a tool that helps you compare, decide and get things done with ease. Over time, we will continue to improve and add features to Copilot Mode. And if at any time you prefer today’s classic experience on Edge, you can change this in your browser settings.
When you turn on Copilot Mode in Microsoft Edge, the following new features will be available:
- Copilot-inspired New Tab Page: Chat, search and navigate with a modern new tab page- inspired by Copilot. Turn off Copilot Mode to disable this feature.
- Copilot theme: Personalize your browser with a Copilot-inspired color theme.
- Context clues: Copilot may give better answers based on the current webpage, browser history, or your preferences in Microsoft Edge.
- Built-in Copilot Search: The next generation of web search powered by Copilot. When enabled, web searches performed on the new tab page will be handled by Copilot Search. This setting can be turned on or off when Copilot Mode is turned on. Turning off Copilot Mode will disable this feature.
