Finally installed 11 today

OK, I turned off Fast Startup in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Still the same menu after two reboots. Good news is that when I turn off in Windows 10, the boot menu (ugly as it is) comes back. So, I'm guessing that with Fast Startup, the boot menu doesn't always have time to activate.

Next is the search for How to restore the Windows 10 dual boot menu.

Yes, I did. Just got through doing that to no avail.

I'm still wondering if it won't change because 11 was installed from within Windows 10.

Like you usually do - I fresh install on an unallocated partition booting from a Windows boot media.

I'm thinking that it should still work. You could always try a repair install. I would start with Windows 10.

YOUSE GUYS AIN'T AGONNA BUHLEEEEEEEVE THIS!

I decided the first thing I should do is to revert back to my August 1 Macrium Reflect 8 backup, so I plug in the USB Rescue stick. Don't ask me why I did it, but the first thing I did was to "fix boot problems". It asked if I wanted to restart, and of course, I did.

My beautimous, beauteous, beautiful, and many other descriptions of happiness, boot menu appeared!

We have beat this thing up one side and down the other, trying to figure out how to fix it, when all I had to do . . . was what I did!

I almost fainted and fell out of my chair when the real boot menu came up for me!

Thank you one and all for all the help you've given me, and apologies to Firebert for literally taking over this thread! I really wasn't thinking!

So glad to hear you found the solution. My guess is it was a corrupted file. Where is the Faststart setting in Windows 11? All I can find is the settings for the monitor and sleep.

So glad to hear you found the solution. My guess is it was a corrupted file. Where is the Faststart setting in Windows 11? All I can find is the settings for the monitor and sleep.

Same place it is in Windows 10 . . . lemme look.

Click the Start Button, then start to type Control Panel; when it appears it's pretty much the same as Windows 10, click on it, then open Power Options. Once there, click on Choose what the power buttons do, then click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.

I just found another way to find it. Instead of searching for power setting like I did, Search for power plan.
