Well I rebooted the machine and I did not get that pop up window. ESET seems to be the problem. I still had another yr on the license from the other machine, but that pop up is way to annoying to put up with.

Should I be doing anything else?

Okay, at least we've managed to confirm that ESET was causing that window to appear at login, although, that Powershell script should run in the background without any issues.

It seems that the issue may be with what is getting "piped" to the Get-AppxPackage cmdlet. Could you please open an elevated Powershell window and then enter the following:

Please post a screenshot of the output in your next post. I just want to see if the cmdlet returns any packages or not.

Yes I have left ESET uninstalled. I have Windows Pro 23H2 build 22631.2861. I find the FlightHub page a bit confusing. Which ISO file do I download? (I am not in the insider option).

It might be worth getting a Process Monitor trace again too like we did in post #18, however, this time you'll want to leave it running while you do "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers".

Thanks, I couldn't see anything immediately obvious but I did notice some registry keys which might be worth investigating. Could you please run the attached fixlist.txt and then attach the resultant fixlog.txt? The script will just query some Appx related registry keys.

You'll want to make sure to run it from command prompt rather than PowerShell since it sometimes has issues with ">>". You should find a .txt file on your Desktop called Appx.txt.
