I'm not sure which variant of the Hyper 212 that is, but any should be OK.

If it's too noisy for your taste, there are quieter fans. Non-Noctua example: XPG CPU FAN VENTO PRO 120 PWM | XPG

The fan that comes with the 212 EVO is 82cfm and 3.90 static pressure.
I've been running the Hyper 212 EVO fans since 2013... 24/7 usage.
When I get the Noctua fans... I'll post back.
Really the only thing they have going for them is they are a tad quieter and 3.94 static pressure, but only 71.6cfm.

Order placed for the thermal compound though. I will be ordering two of those Noctua Fans whenever I get the money again. . (I'm highly upset right now). . . Unless someone wants to be generous. . LOL just teasin of course.

Noctua does make a meaner fan...
110cfm 7.63mmH2O

But it's like 43dBA. Seriously loud.

Yeah my anxiety doesn't like unnecessary loud things. . I can't stand airplanes, trains, motorcycles, or people who think it's "cool" to have loud mufflers. . . It just drives me insane.

Well.... I went with the meaner fans... I canceled the previous order and ordered the 110cfm, 7.63mmH2O fans.
They're pwm, so I can set a fan curve to keep them at about 2500rpm, which will be about the same noise as the Hyper 212 EVO fans.

I got these ones instead

They are the same fans... just meaner. 3000rpm vs 2000rpm

At 2500rpm I should get 88.7cfm, 4.925mmH2O and 36.25dBA
The fans I'm running now, get... 76cfm, 3.90mmH2O and 36dBA

So... I'm gaining 12cfm, 1.025mmH2O, with same dBA @ only 2500rpm out of 3000rpm
Then, if needed I can let them ramp up to 3000rpm.... which would give me 110cfm, 7.63mmH2O at 43dBA

I may just run them at 3000rpm all the time. It'd only be 7dBA louder, but should keep things quite a bit cooler.


Apparently 45dBA is the sound of a refrigerator, or a library?

I just have to wait to get money now, because I had to give what I had to someone else earlier today. I had planned on using it to buy me a CPU Fan. That's what I worked for to get it. . All for nothing.

The Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 is rated at 70.7 cfm (converting from their 120.2 m3/hr) and 2.83mm hg, 25.1 dBA. The stock fan with the 212 Evo, 82.9 cfm at 2.7mm, 36 dBA, at 2000 RPM.

The Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-2000 IP67 PWM may be a more elegant choice, but it's $28 rather than $16 at Amazon.

I still push the XPG Vento Pro (Nidec Gentle Typhoon descendant). I'm not sure whether it's any better than the Noctua products, but it's less popular. ;-)

I wonder whether "Jam83" has two sets of plastic clips to mount two fans?

In my opinion, all of the fans mentioned above will be noisy at full RPM. There are people who like fan noise, but I'm not one.

But you should be able to set a fan profile that is quiet when the CPU isn't running flat out.

You should check with Cooler Master as regards your exact model of Hyper 212, but they sell an accessory kit that includes fan clips (plus some stuff you may not need). $10US.

Speaking of stuff that you don't need, it's not clear to me that using two fans will buy you much of a temperature drop. The stock fan is probably OK, if not the quietest.

You could proceed with it, if you have the right mounting hardware for your AM4 board. I believe that it'd be pretty easy to swap fans in the future without removing the heatsink from the motherboard.

I try to avoid spending other people's money for them, when the gains may be marginal.

Yes, you can do that. I remove the fans from mine... every time I blow the dust out of the comp.

I have $18. If i could find a better stock fan with the heatsink included, then that might work. I'm just terrified that it's going to overheat, even though I have not seen my temps above 135°F

Honestly, you need to set your monitoring software for Celsius. The entire computer industry uses Celsius.
Even in the U.S. :-)
It's like you're speaking Klingon.
AMD CPUs should be about 80C or less under load. 85C on rare occasions.

What's those in °F? I'm not doing conversions man. Schools didn't teach the Metric System and most still don't. America just doesn't use the Metric System. If they did, then highway speeds would be in km instead of mph.
