I only put dust in my computer twice a year.
I have an oil-less compressor for blowing dust into the computer, but sometimes, if I'm lazy I just use cans of compressed dust. :cool:

I don't have a schedule. I just do it when I see the dust inside starting to build up. One of the pluses of having a case with a window.

I've gaffer taped a Slurpee straw to my vacuum cleaner crevice tool, de-static and have at her.

Same - about every 3 months. I use a can of compressed air and a small brush.

You would be surprised at just how dirty a pc can get before it encounters problems, unless there is dust bunnies blocking air flow from your radiator fans, you probably don't need to clean it.

lol. My PC gets dusted real fast due to the constant construction going around my neighborhood. Keeping the room closed all the time doesn't help. Also, I like to pause my game every 5 min and use tweezers to remove any singular dust particles that have entered my PC. As we all know, each dust particle that remains equals one lost frame in game. :smirk:

You are right the dust do start sticking after a while and it gets very hard to remove even with the alcohol. Some of these vents have hard to reach nooks that it's difficult to get a cloth into, and canned air just seems to blow dust into cracks rather than off the pc. For these situations I have taken to using Q-tips. They gather up dust like you wouldn't believe and are really good for clearing vents that have plastic framing/grills that you can't get into otherwise. :think:

I use to take my desktops outside and reverse the hose on my shop vac. I would use the eraser end of a pencil to hold the fans so they didn't over spin. I don't do my computers any more but I still do my TVs.

The whole dust issue is a mystery to me. My own desktop PC doesn't accumulate much dust - I give it a dust check whenever I open it up, maybe once a year. On the other hand I have seen other peoples' cases which are chock full of the stuff. I can only assume that they either have a serious static electricity problem, or a very inefficient vacuum cleaner which is used frequently to clean very dusty carpets.

My case is pretty clean inside, but, I did spend about an hour and a half cleaning my mouse and keyboard today, with a bunch of Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol.
