Solved Installation of a fresh windows 11 24h2 stop with errors


i am most concerned about popcnt instructions even after successful installation of 24H2.

What part isn't clear? MS re-compiled Windows so it doesn't run on old CPU's. No degree of installer bypasses will EVER fix that problem.

This isn't a problem avoided by patching a few files here or there. Once MS has changed the compiler options, then any random Windows executable or DLL in the future can contain POPCNT instructions. ANY.

And i have heard Microsoft is continually integrating more and more popcnt instructions into Windows 11 24H2 through regular Windows updates.

It is unnecessary to create a usb drive as gpt. An mbr usb drive will boot on legacy bios or uefi pcs.

One created as gpt will only boot on uefi pcs.

The installer sorts out how the OS is stored on the target pc by its settings.

My laptop is uefi only but boots from an mbr usb drive and installs Windows 11 correctly.

It is only very old (15+ years or so pcs that will have sn issue).

You will not be able to install windows requiring popcnt on incompatible pcs.

Simple answer is if your pc cannot run popcnt, it is time to upgrade your pc.

Then it must be ancient. Windows 11 will only run on uefi pcs (you can force it to run on legacy bios pcs but not simple).

On the root of your C: drive you'll see a bootx64.efi file. It needs to be copied to your Rufus boot USB in \efi\boot
Replace the file that is there.

How to clean install Windows 11 24H2 on MBR disk (BIOS/MBR installation).

(you need a CPU with POPCNT support)

Tested in a virtual machine - Windows 11 24H2 26100.1742

As you can see from the screenshot below, the disk is MBR.

GPT disk
- Unlike an MBR disk, the system partition of a GPT disk has a FAT32 file system.
- Unlike an MBR disk, a GPT disk does not have an active partition.

I re download the zip from UUP dump this time i use win rar ( didn't bother to install it since windows had one build in) that's been said extracted the exe give admin right make the iso and now works just installed Windows 11 24h2 ✌️
