Yes like I said I wish I had known this before I set this machine up and yes my son will monitor her net usage as she has already set the cat amongst the pigeons with buy apps for her tablet and racked up a tidy bill. She is well aware of what she did (unknowingly at the time) and is surprisingly sensible using any device now or I would not have set it up for her.
