That's also true, but dust does build up and you'd be surprised how much can build up in just 6 months.
Agreed. And I can take off the side of the PC and look at the fans, and the filters, and the surfaces of the case to see if I can see any visible accumulation of dust.. If i take a look and I don't really see anything anywhere, do I really have a problem that needs to be taken care of? Clearly that's up to me to decide, nobody can really decide that for me.
As I said before, everything isn't for everyone. If it's not you, it's not you. I'm not you... I'm me.
And I'm not necessarily posting my posts for you, I'm posting for those who think as I do. We can agree to disagree
I know, i wasn't saying or implying that people shouldn't have to clean their PC's because mine isn't dirty. Of course, check it out and if it's dusty and that bothers you, by all means clean it up if it makes you feel better.
But as an example, if you take a PC that's 100% perfectly clean, and then you introduce say 5% dust and later increase that to 10% dust....if you were to benchmark it, or quantify performance in one way or the other, would anybody be able to prove that by removing that small amount of dust that the machine is actually performing better. Sure, if you clog up some fans, they may not spin well and may not move as much air and thus your temps could rise.....but is that the case for a very small, or small amount of dust? A lot of dust, or course. But such a small amount???? But I think the enthusiasts would rather just get rid of the 10% or 5%, or remaining 1.5% to make themselves feel better about it. It doesn't in any way make them wrong....but it may make less of a difference other than a feeling.
The real question is if you do see a small amount of dust, and you take the time and effort to get rid of it, did it actually provide any tangible benefit? It's always hard to tell for sure if the juice is worth the squeeze.
I always get this feeling that you feel that all of my posts are attacks against you. I'm just making general statements. Sometimes I have quoted you, like I did above when you said an air compressor and a can of compressed air and I asked you for some clarification....but the rest of my commentary wasn't necessarily directed to you, but rather just banter for anybody else reading the thread. I bet most times I quote somebody, I don't even pay attention to who the person is I quoted. I'm just responding to the words....not the person.
