Known and Resolved issues for Windows 11 version 24H2

 Windows message center:

Current status as of January 21, 2025

Windows 11, version 24H2, also known as the Windows 11 2024 Update, is now broadly available.

Starting this week, we are expanding this latest Windows version’s phased rollout. We are gradually offering this update also to eligible devices running Windows 10, version 22H2.

If you have an eligible Windows 10 or Windows 11 device, you can check if the update is available by selecting Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates. If your device is ready for the update, you’ll see the option to Download and install Windows 11, version 24H2.

Devices running Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, versions 23H2 and 22H2 that are not managed by IT departments will receive the update automatically. Users can choose the time to restart their device or postpone the update.

For Copilot+ PC devices, new features will continue rolling out in phases to select devices and markets in the Windows Insider community. Note that availability may differ based on the various silicon platforms.

We will regularly share more information on the Windows 11 2024 Update rollout on this page.

No big problems with in-place upgrade on 7 computers.

After installing Win11_24H2_(26100.1742) as in "in-place upgrade", Windows Update wants to install 2024-09, KB5043080, September Cumulative Update, which is 1742. Let it do it & there is no change.
"sfc /scannow" detects errors before the CU & does repair them. No errors detected after the CU.
"DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth" says all is fine before & after.

Is Start11 an affected program? I did a cursory search online I couldn't find a list.
I currently have a fully updated Win 11 23H2 installed on a X99 board with a Broadwell-E 6850K. I have no form of TPM. Should I have any issues with running the standard Windows update?

So far these are the drivers and/or software that are having problems or not behaving properly with 24H2 installed (rolling back to 23H2 solves the problems):

Intel Killer drivers, both Ethernet and Wi-Fi (regarding Wi-Fi, the problem is related to Location Services and doesn't matter if enabled or disabled, also occurs in Killer Control Center)

Alienware Command Center (doesn't load all features, also gives a license + download error in MS Store)

Avast Premium Security (on every PC restart the program detects a new network, yet the network is always the same)

SUPERAntispyware Pro (license registers as EXPIRED, yet works when rolling back to 23H2)

Wise Care 365 (after installing 24H2, some users have reported that the program disappears from their PCs and only some remnants are left behind in the installation folder)

24H2 hasn't even shown up in my Updates... I would wait until some bugs are fixed, my two cents.
How will bugs get detected if one does not try it?

Anyway, you can wait for ages but that is no guarantee that you will not get issues.

Make an image backup, upgrade knowing you can revert if you get issues.
