Hello all,

my problems started a few weeks ago when i started getting thousands of spam mail so i went into my godaddy account and chaged my email address and its been great.

Now today I just updated my system, and I am locked out. Its saying that I cannot use the account which of course was attached to my old email. I have tried for hours to change things but to no avail.

The system is also saying that my PIN is wrong, so I am locked out of my PC which I use for my business.

Can anyone help me with some advice on how to get back into my system.

You can always enable Window's built-in Administrator account and change the PIN for that lock account or create yourself new account.

firstly, I thank you for your superfast response to my problem, but I cannot get into the PC to do what you suggest. I am completely locked out.

Am I missing something?

Can you start Windows recovery environment, you can use regedit trick to enable Admin account?

Did you have a PIN before, or is this a new thing that is being asked?

I gather that you may not have a backup image ..... ?

I’m sorry but I am out I’d my depth here. I have a recovery disc in a usb drive and that how I got as far as I did but making that new temp file in Sam just won’t let me. It says that it can’t be done because it is being used elsewhere. I am sorry for this.

Are you sure you are importing Hive file from C:\ partition?

I'm really confused on how an email change at GoDaddy and a windows update locked you out of your Computer? Are you sharing windows files with your business computer and your home computer?

Yes, I had a pin that worked all the time but when i changed my email by adding a few letters things started going bad. I have changed my microsoft account password thinking that would do it but not so. No matter what I try i can't get it

Augpal, I dont know why his happened either but it has and when i try to log in it keeps giving my old email address and when i try to cgange it that gets stopped also. I am sorry but i dont know any more than that.

can you revert back to your old godaddy email just so you can access your PC again? You can address the spam email problem later when you get your PC back. I think getting access to your PC is more important.
This is a very sensitive issue. We are not sure if you really own the PC that you are trying to access so you will get limited help here.

20/20 hindsight to all here, when installing win11, always create with a local logon (non-email) ID. It's easy. google will show you a ton of ways.

Yes I have a MS Passport or ID or whatever they have changed the name to but I never use it to log in. Only for once a year or so if I need their opinion on something.

You should talk with MS Community but you may have to do a re-install .
