Microsoft Photos App New Update


I had it on Win 7. Just google "ACDSee Classic v2.44". That's a tornado!!

that ver indeed rocks but looks old and at a windows 11 machine... yeap.... good bad... im going back to the XnViewMP thats snappy and looking goody! :P

That's what I like about the Picasa abandonware, it doesn't connect, doesn't phone home, it's just there and does what it's supposed to!
I also like that it renders as an escapable overlay...

picasa was good olddays! i totaly used it that days and loved it!

Yes, the reason I was switched to Photos app, its UI! The day I saw it I felt in love :zany:... That (ACDSee) was a big loser against Photos app.

It was optimized for web! They decided to write new codes (G Photos) instead of developing Picasa codes

They have added Hide Filmstrip to the right-click, but they didn't make it persistent, and every time you open an image, you have to select this option to hide the Filmstrip. I think it still needs more work... :thumbsup:

I have the new MS Photos and it does nothing like what you posted......Version 2022.31100.24013.0 is what I am showing.

2- Go to this link:

3- Paste the first link (Microsoft Store Photos app link) in this box (#1), select Retail (#2), and press the tick button (#3):

After pressing the tick/verify button, it lists multiple versions of the Photos app for you. Microsoft has removed version 2022.31060, you have to download version 2022.31070 instead (the UI and function are the same). Just Download the appxbundle and double click on it to install:

The 2022.311 is the latest version (current official/stable version). Another new version is on the way, which I think will be released (officially on Store) in mid-November. I am waiting for this version (they have added iCloud integration in the Photos app).
