Solved MOP for in place upgrade of unsupported PC to new Windows 11 PC using Macrium Reflect

Hi

I would like to share my MOP for upgrading old Windows 10 PC to new Windows 11 PC, e.g., when old PC is not supported in Windows 11.
The advantage of this approach compared to Laplink PC Mover (PCmover Image & Drive Assistant™ – Easy PC Setup) is that you keep all customization, such that new PC has similar look and feel as old PC.

The most important thing here is that you need to ensure that old PC is updated to Windows 10 22H2 (latest).

The method here is:

Clean up old PC as required.
Make Macrium Reflect backup image of old PC to USB disk and generate Macrium rescue USB stick.
Restore backup image to new PC after booting on Macrium rescue USB stick.
Perform in place upgrade of new PC to Windows 11.

I have verified my MOP on a number of Lenovos and Dells.

OP have you ever heard of the software tool...RUFUS? With it one can create a modified ISO/bootable flash drive that bypasses all the MS restrictions on installing Win11 on unsupported hardware. You can use this to simply do an in-place upgrade of your current OS on unsupported hardware.

I know that, but I wanted to make a MOP for upgrading to windows 11 on a new PC, since old PC does not officially support windows 11

Honestly, I do not know of any of the regulars here who use PCmover...ever. Or if they do, they have never said so. Rufus method seems to be the most used way of installing 11 on unsupported PCs these days.

Well, the MOP I shared is intended for old PC which is not supported in windows 11 by MS.
Not how to bypass MS checks for windows 11, since MS may at some point stop support of old PC if it has not been upgraded the official way.
As of today I only know about above mentioned methods using either Macrium reflect or PC mover to move old PC to new PC. I prefer the former, since it preserves customization.

No, the point is that you can not officially install windows 11 on unsupported PC.
I know the hacks you are referring to incl. Rufus method, but MS may not support unsupported HW long term.
I.e. in a later service pack support may be turned down.
However, I need to ensure that my customers will get future updates, hence they need new windows 11 HW.
