And the price they want is really good. About half what I paid from another online seller.

BTW, if someone want to buy Office Professional 2021 directly from Microsoft then the price is $439.99. Also, Microsoft does not sell Office Professional Plus 2021 to the public.

I have an idea how its done, but I don't care. If the key works and says its for one computer which mine does, I am happy. I bought windows 11 same way. Never have any issues. Its different than going on something like ebay and buying a bunch of "special keys" that actually belong to an organization.

Yes, it's a legitimate key. What's questionable is how stacksocial makes it work.

I've thought about that..., I came to the conclusion that it's none of my business.
I figure, if it's highly illegal, they'd have been shut down a long time ago.

I mean they cannot be the real MS product but maybe a clone made in China?

Apparently there's nothing illegal about what they're doing. It's only questionable. Since the product you purchased is not available to the general public, you're obviously purchasing the use of a valid corporate key for an employee seat. That key would only be valid for as long as Stacksocial continues to pay Microsoft for a corporate license for a given number of employee seats. Your guess is as good as mine as to why Microsoft continues to allow this.

Online sellers have been selling Windows and Office for up to 90% off Microsoft own official price for at least ten years now. If you ask about this on Microsoft's own support they will tell you to only buy from official sources. Note most of these responses are from people that don't work for Microsoft but are professionals with a business relationship with Microsoft. I wouldn't expect them to say anything except what Microsoft would say themselves .

It is strange how many of these "nonofficial" sellers there are out there and Microsoft seemingly looking the other way. I agree that if Microsoft wanted to end this all they would have to do is shut down a few of them. Then the word would get out and the rest would probably voluntarily shut down.

If I were to buy Windows and Office for business use I would only buy it from official sources. However, as a home user I buy Windows and Office from "nonofficial" sellers. I try to buy from places that have been around long enough that they have a good reputation. Note that even reputable "nonofficial" sellers sometimes sell keys that are problematic. They will always replace the keys for free as long as you don't wait too long.

I don't know for sure where these discount priced keys come from. There has been a lot of speculation but no real evidence. I wish some reputable independent organization would look into this and settle this.

BTW, I am surprised that this thread hasn't been closed by the moderator. It seems that just talking about this is taboo on many forums. I don't what they are afraid of. I think open and honest discussion should be encouraged.

You're just purchasing a Product Key.
Everything else you download straight from MS.

You have this wrong. You are only buying the keys.

After I bought the key for Office 2021 I logged into the website "Login | Microsoft 365" and logged in with my Microsoft account. I then redeemed the key. When done it was added to my Microsoft account.



I then logged into "https://account.microsoft.com/" and logged in using my Microsoft account. I found Office 2021 in my subscriptions. I then downloaded Office 2021.

I would imagine that there's nothing wrong with this discussion as there's nothing illegal and there's no piracy or theft.
